Joel Kumagai: With a thirst for cooking knowledge, Joel is forever refining his skills in the kitchen and with his passion and intensity for cooking, he is constantly looking for the next great dish and trying to satisfy and fulfill our guest’s wants and needs for the perfect dining experience.

As a “student of food” he began pursuing his passion at the age of 15 cooking for all his family functions and then enrolling in culinary courses through Fanshawe and George Brown College and later refined them in some of the finest resorts in British Columbia. With a few stops in between he has a home to stay here at Crave. His passion and intensity have inspired some of the next generation chefs to follow in his footsteps and work under his tutelage. His motto is … “it’s not my menu, it’s our guests menu, and let me create what they crave” and with this comes the ultimate dining experience.
